Ensnared

Even the most beautiful things can trap and hold power over you. Color in particular has the ability to influence your everyday decisions. What if color decided to turn on you?

Watercolour and graphite on 18x24 watercolour paper.

Art is Work -_-

by on Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Art is so much work, but I love it. Here's a little taste of what I'm working on. Gotta keep working. I really want to waste the day away sleeping, playing minecraft, and watching the Guild. Will post the finished piece as soon as it's done. (Which hopefully is sooner than later.)

Christmas Cards

by on Friday, December 14, 2012

Christmas break is here! Feel the stress just melt away and get replaced with art. This is a screen print design I made for Christmas cards. I wanted to send out something special so this is a limited print of only forty. Can you guess what it is? I'll give you a hint. It's one of twelve things my true love gave to me. Merry Christmas!

Shell

by on Saturday, November 17, 2012

Putting a seashell to you ear was always an interesting thing to me. I was always told that if you put a seashell to your ear you can hear the ocean. It never worked for me, but I've always liked the idea. What would you do if the shell spoke? Could someone, or something, be trapped in there? This was the theme of my very first zine. I have never made multiple drawings to tell a story so this was a very new experience for me. I sold it at a local zine festival and I feel that it sold fairly well. There was one girl who came up to my booth and told me she loved the story, which made all the stress of putting it together worth it. More zines are definitely to come.

I'm tired of school

by on Thursday, September 20, 2012

I've been really busy over the Fall semester. I literally have finished nothing. Every second is used either working or studying. Thank God for lectures though. All I've been able to do is doodle in lectures. Here's a doodle just for you.

Cosmic Love

by on Thursday, July 26, 2012

These were made under the theme, self-portrait without the physical self / prove your existence. So I decided the only way to do this was to create something abstract. After much thinking I decided to create paintings of space, which was partly influenced by all the electronic/dubstep music I‘ve been listening to. Though these paintings are in a way, spacey and of a real thing, none of these are copies of actual existing gas clouds in space. I only used the rules of cosmic nature to create my own spacey gas cloud formations. What you see is all from my mind. It was all created by little decisions I made during the creation process. Therefore these paintings existence is proof of my own existence.
An interesting concept came to me as I started making these paintings. The concept is that what you see and think and know are all based on what your senses tell your brain. Therefore everything, in a way, is all in your head. I know I exist, but I don’t know for a fact that anything else does. And this is true for everyone. So in a way, I am the universe and the universe is me.
    Just something to ponder on.
Three paintings for an art exchange with Australia. Acrylic on canvas.

Screen

by on Sunday, July 8, 2012

Notice something strange? Is that what you think it is? If only that screen
of color wasn't blocking the way. How we yern to see the change with
our own eyes, in all its clarity.
Watercolor and graphite on paper.

Thinking about making a series of these.

Sushi and Ash

    India ink on paper.
Just a doodle but I really like it. India ink has such a stain like quality. I've always
liked art that looked a little dirty. I'm thinking about making a zine around this image.
 We'll see what happens.
